Founded by Dr. Blessed Effiong Udo-Ekpo, BUEF commenced its empowerment programmes informally in 2005 but became fully formalized in 2023. The foundation is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.

The Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation (BUEF) is envisioned‘to improvethe welfare and prospects of underprivileged individuals and communities.’ Hence, we are on a “mission to support and advocate for better life through poverty alleviation, promotion of quality education, public enlightenment on topical issues that affect the quality of human life, and sustainableenvironmental management advocacy”.
Academic Excellence Award
Instituted an Academic Excellence Award for the ‘Best Graduating Student’ at the Department of Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering, Akwa Ibom State University, Akpaden, Nigeria.
Educational Financial Support
Provided financial support to Mr. Donald Esset, a Landmark University student who later graduated with a first-class degree in Computer Science.
Poverty Alleviation Programmes
Donated mini-busesfor transport business startups (with Mr. Issa Ahmed Muktar being one of the beneficiaries).
Donated Compassionate Homes To Homeless Familes
Built and donated humanitarian houses to homeless families in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Provision Of Humanitarian Water Projects To communities
Sponsored and donated a borehole water project to a community in EssienUdim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
