Dr. Blessed Effiong Udo-Ekpo is an industry professional, author, philanthropist, minister of God, entrepreneur and mentor. He hails from Ukana in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
A product of GOD’s grace from a humble beginning, Dr. Blessed holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, two Postgraduate Diplomas (PGDs), two Masters Degrees – Master of Science (MSc) & Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Uyo, and two Doctorate Degrees – Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Pollution and Control from the University of Calabar and Doctor of Science (DSc) in Strategic Business Administration & Corporate Leadership from the European American University (EAU). Additionally, Blessed is currently on another postgraduate programme in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering.
A thoroughbred professional with seven (7) experiential backgrounds covering Engineering/Maintenance, Compliance Advisory, Business Management, Environmental Management, Strategic Leadership, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Aviation, Dr. Blessed is certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), USA; the University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering/PETEX in Valve Maintenance/Engineering; the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO), United Kingdom in Petroleum Technology; and the University of Copenhagen (Netherlands) in Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School (LBS), a Fellow of the Institute of Entrepreneurship & Executive Development, Ghana and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (MSPE), the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (MNSChE) and the Nigerian Environmental Society (MNES). Dr. Blessed presently works in the petroleum industry.
In the quest to impact humanity positively, he founded the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation (BUEF) with the aim of harnessing and improving the wellbeing of underprivileged individuals and communities through the provision of scholarships, economic empowerment, capacity building, public enlightenment and environmental sustainability advocacy in Nigeria.
As a private citizen, the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation’s programmes are solely funded by the founder’s family. Meanwhile, the Foundation is open for partnership with other NGOs and establishments for the betterment of society.
Dr. Blessed is happily married to Mrs. Idorenyin Hope Blessed-Udo, and they are blessed with children.
