In furtherance of its commitment to uplifting the less privileged and in support of the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno, the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation has donated 1,000 customized exercise books to students of Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Ekpene Udo, in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

The sensitization and free book distribution exercise, held on Friday, October 17, 2025, also featured a career guidance and ethical reorientation session aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and values necessary for responsible citizenship and personal development.

In her welcome address, the Principal, Mrs. Helen Sunday Ekong, expressed profound appreciation to the Founder, Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo, for extending educational support to students in rural areas who face challenges in accessing essential learning materials.

“Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation has taken a laudable step by aligning its humanitarian efforts with the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Udo-Ekpo for bringing this initiative to our school and for reaching out to children in rural communities who are truly in need,” Mrs. Ekong stated.

Also speaking, the Vice Principal (Academics), Mrs. Uduak Etuk, commended the Foundation for the gesture, noting that many of the students come from low-income families and often struggle to afford writing materials.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s intervention. Victory Idorenyin Asukwo, a JSS3 student who received seven exercise books, said the donation would enable him to complete his notes for the term. Similarly, Timi-Abasi Samuel Okon, an SS1 student, noted that he would use the books for subjects such as Biology, Marketing, Economics, and Financial Accounting.

In their goodwill messages, the Senior Prefect (Boys), Jephter Ofonime Okon, and the Senior Prefect (Girls), UduakAbasi Emaekop Peter, thanked the Foundation for its continued commitment to promoting education and moral development among students.

They described the initiative as “a source of encouragement and a demonstration of compassion towards the vulnerable in rural communities,” and appealed to the Foundation to extend similar interventions to other schools within the State.

Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals and communities through educational support, economic empowerment, public enlightenment, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
