CELEBRATING PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP: DR. BLESSED UDO-EKPO FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SENATE PRESIDENT GODSWILL AKPABIO, GOVERNOR UMO ENO AND OTHER DISTINGUISHED LEADERS
By Samuel Asuquo
The Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation has continued to demonstrate unwavering commitment to leadership support, unity and societal development through meaningful gestures that promote good governance and humanitarian service. And as a mark of honour and solidarity, the Foundation has proudly sponsored billboards in support of the Senate President, Obong (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio, GCON, and His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, in recognition of their outstanding leadership and uncommon dedication to the progress of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
Mounted at strategic locations (including the frontage of the popular Cottage Hospital in Ukana Ikot Ntuen in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State), these billboards also feature Hon. Patrick Umoh (member representing Essien Udim/Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives); Hon. Prince Ukpong Akpabio II (member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly), and Hon. Ntiero Usoro, the Executive Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area. This effort epitomizes a positive recognition of these great leaders whose dedication to service, development, and good governance continues to inspire hope among the people.
Founded in 2005 by Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo, the Foundation is envisioned to improve the well being of underprivileged individuals and communities. And within its 25 years of existence, the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation has awarded several scholarships, provided financial supports to students for research projects, donated humanitarian water projects to vulnerable communities, distributed thousands of books and writing materials to students, built compassionate homes for homeless families, supported human capacity building through vocational trainings sponsorships, provided mini-buses and tricycles for business start-ups and slso instituted Academic Excellence Awards for the Best Graduating Students at the Akwa Ibom University (AKSU) and the University of Calabar (UNICAL) to promote academic excellence.
While Dr. Udo-Ekpo has always sought to serve quietly, the resonance of his work has made significant impacts. The Foundation remains steadfast in the continuous execution of value-adding human capacity building programmes and strategic partnerships that foster societal progress. These sincere acts of humanitarianism have attracted several recognition and awards to the founder from far and near.
